ANGELUS OAKS (CBSLA.com) — Norm Cione, a paid call firefighter for the San Bernardino County Fire Department, responded to a call at his childhood home last Tuesday after murder suspect Christopher Dorner barricaded himself in the Angelus Oaks cabin.

“We moved up there in ’60 when I was 12 years old,” Cione said. “Every Sunday we’d have spaghetti dinner around 2 o’clock my mother would make.”

Cione drew diagrams of the house for law enforcement officials during the standoff with Dorner.

“It’s some place I know everything about,” he said. “When you looked at the house you knew what part of the home was burning, what could have been and what was. All the memories of family come and gone through there.”

Cione has lived in the area for about 50 years.

“There was a lot of emotions going on, but not sadness because I have a lot of memories and that fire is not gonna take those memories away,” Cione said.
